What's the Deal with Kimberly? Part 4
How can you praise God when you have a God complex? Inquiring minds want to know.
This is part 4 of my “What’s the Deal with Kimberly” series, which references the antagonist Kimberly in my book. Go back and read parts 1, 2, and 3, and then this deep dive for a refresh:
Next, take a gander at these social media posts:
To be clear, when Kimberly1 refers to her father, she’s referring to the big daddy in the sky, not her actual dad. I love the blatant call for desperate people and reminding them not to use critical thinking and just…OBEY! She’s saying all the quiet parts out loud. All the posts reference her new MLM grift, mixed in with posts about needing to sell her home because of the R+F shutdown. It’s a personification of fuck-around-and-find-out, but she’s ignoring the ‘find out’ part.
I need the Christians to chime in here. Please.
How can you say these things and claim to be a Christian? Please comment below; it’s open to all.
I can’t answer this question because having a God complex seems incongruent with being a Christ follower. The hypocrisy of the word of God mixing with the MLM is the part that is hard for me to swallow, and I imagine it is for believers, too (am I right?).
I’m not saying these women don’t believe in God. Instead, they are twisting scripture and faith to manipulate others. And why not? As I’ve already covered, when you’ve been treated like a supreme leader/Guru/God, you can say what you want, and people seem to believe you. As a ‘woman of God, ’ the pretend endorsement of good old JC is all you need from those who follow you and believe. The prosperity gospel flows freely in MLMs.
I mean….
And this one is just…yikes. The FAITH MANIPULATION!
Watch her video in real-time if you’d like. It’s….something.
Christians, again, I need to hear from you. When someone says the Lord talks to them…do they hear voices? I’m not trying to be an asshole, I promise, I’m really curious, because it concerns me. If I started hearing voices speak to me telling me to join Shaklee or FAKE MAKE Wellness or some other grift, I would swan dive into the deepest part of the ocean because that scares the fuck out of me. Is this hyperbole? Like when you see a rainbow or find a lucky penny and think, ‘ok, this will be a good day, it must be a sign from God,’ or are there literal voices in these bossbabe’s heads? PLEASE TELL ME.
If God talks to them, why must they involve other people? Is that their way of spreading the word? Why would God want anyone to join a scheme with a 99 percent failure rate?
The references to God rarely make logical sense. Kimberly consistently posted (and still posts) rhetoric like this:
What is that all about? Oh….
The experts have spoken, I guess! Listen to us for financial planning!
And more about how “It’s not a paycheck, it’s a family,”
Meanwhile, this is the same lady:
Confusing, right? The person who sent me the screenshots thought so as well. She had this to say:
Why can’t they admit it IS about the money?
Last question from me (ok, probably not), but I think this is what drives me the most bananas. The consistent, “It’s not about the money, and it isn’t about a paycheck, it’s about family,” yet they show their Gucci bags, shiplap houses, and fancy cars, use wild financial claims, and outlandish lifestyle marketing. JUST ADMIT IT’S ABOUT THE MONEY! I get the prosperity gospel, I understand that mega churches are run by leaders who are rich as fuck. I understand the golden handcuffs that make it tough to leave, let alone look at. These women flaunt their bling, Chanel outfits, wealth…why not admit it’s about the money??
So that’s my commentary for today; clearly, I have more questions than answers. So, I’ll ask the same question I started with:
How can you call yourself a Christian if you use your faith to manipulate? How can you consider yourself a follower of Jesus if you urge others to join a scheme where they are nearly guaranteed to lose money?
The comments are open to everyone, whether you are a subscriber or not, so please chime in!

Again, Kimberly is referring to the global personification, like a Karen
I would highly encourage you to watch “American Gospel”
It is a documentary on the Prosperity Gospel. This is what you’re writing and posting about, it is a prideful and demonic doctrine. There are no prophets today, there are no voices. It’s their own voices in their minds telling them what the flesh wants. I have heard so many women get 90% of the gospel right, thinking they are true Christians, followers of Christ, only to have them share in the next breath some heretical statement that just makes me sigh. 😔 You nailed it with the golden cuffs, it IS about the money, the power and their glory. I am sure you have stood in line to get your picture taken with “Kimberly” to put on your “Vision board”. 🤦♀️🤯
It’s a game of cards and satan is the leader. I could post many scriptures but start with that documentary and you will begin to see how the manipulation trickles down to their “teams”.
I couldn't finish your post and it has NOTHING TO DO with you or your writing. It just is a big trigger for me.
You are completely spot on with your thoughts on this. I decided I couldn't stomach being in the evangelical church on November 8, 2016 (or whenever Trump got elected.) Around that time, though, I happened to join RF, and under a crazy crazy evangelical upline. The level of mental gymnastics they played you entwine "faith" and MLM (AND the level of shame they bestowed upon you if you weren't bringing in enough $$) was/is unreal.
Are they Christians? I don't think so, but at the same time, they would not call super liberal, LGBTQ+ ally me a Christian.
My brand of Christianity is to just try to be like liberal, radical Jesus.
